The annual Standard Chartered Bank (Stanchart) golf championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, September 28.
A spokesman for the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, that the one-day 18-hole stableford event is open to amateur golfers of Tema, Celebrity and Achimota golf clubs as well as invited guests of Stanchart. It is expected to attract over 150 participants.
He said men with handicap 18 and below qualify for the event while the ladies' qualification is pegged at handicap 24 and below.
Albert Brock, Kofi Okyere, Lee Mensah, John F. Sam and Nick Smallman have all registered for the event from Achimota.
According to Mr Jeoff Fisher, Captain of Achimota Golf Club, his team has plunged into serious training and would sweep all the prizes at stake. Seven prizes will be awarded in the Men's event while four would go the Ladies.
Mr Ebenezer Essoka, Managing Director of Stanchart will be the special guest of honour.
