Former Tano Bofoakwa forward, Welbeck Takyi has departed the shores of Ghana to begin a two-week trial with a Belarusian club.

The lanky forward left Ghana on Tuesday morning and is expected to land in the capital, Minsk on Wednesday.

According to the player's representatives, the club were impressed with footage of the forward and have invited him for further assessment.

Per the representatives, Takyi could seal a deal with the side in the coming weeks following fruitful negotiations.

The 21-year-old was one of Bofoakwa's best players in the 2021 Ghana Division One League, consistently delivering impressive displays where he helped the club placed second after missing out on qualification to top-flight football on the final day losing 1-0 to rivals Brong Ahafo United.

He contributed to 20 goals, scored 14 and assisted 6 times in 27 games he featured.

The young attacker few months ago popped up on the list of top clubs in Belgium, Israel, Estonia and Egypt including Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.
