All set for the Alitalia walk

The organizers of the ALITALIA WALK have given their word that all is set for the walk to come on, on Saturday April 13, 2002 at Legon Athletic Oval at 6:00am. The walk which has attracted the largest patronage including the security services, keep fit clubs and the general public will take the walkers from the Legon Athletic Oval through Tetteh Quarshie Round About, Achimota Police Station and end at the Athletic Oval at Legon.

Mr. Paul Arthur of Voltic Mineral Water donated 20 cartons of voltic mineral water to the organizers of the walk and promise to send more water to the route of the walk so that walkers don’t run out of water. Energizer, Parlays Biscuits, Cowbell and Biriwa Beach Hotel have all donated in kind for the success of the walk.

In an interview, Mr. Rushdy the secretary of Visco Walking Club said that all those who have not registered and will want to do so should contact the club on phone number 0208167623 or E-mail : [email protected] or at the venue before the start of the walk. He said further that the chairman of El-wak keep fit club Mr. Gilbert Helegbe and the coach WO I Zakari have registered 100 of its members to take part.

The walk will be in two phase, the 10k will be for fitness only and 20k for competition.
