Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has criticized Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew following his shocking miss against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Patrick Vieira's side hosted Brighton at the Selhurst Park on Monday night.

The Ghana international had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 to Palace but shot wide.

However, Brighton fought back to snatch a point with many fans of the club criticizing the 29-year-old after his miss.

Henry, who scored 175 Premier League goals during his time, believes the Ghana international should’ve squared the ball to Benteke or better still, just scored.

“That’s the better option,” said the former French international.

“You score, I come and celebrate with you – we do some somersault or whatever you want, we slide on our knees.

“If you don’t score, I would have killed you. Give me the ball….that is a sure goal.

“In that position, I’m thinking Benteke. This is where, in the Premier League, that’s a 2-0. Yes, he could have scored. But what about this [passing to Benteke], that’s 2-0 and we’re not talking anymore,” he added.

Meanwhile, Vieira has vowed to help Jordan Ayew to regain his confidence in finding the back of the net.

Ayew has managed just one league goal for Palace since the start of the 2020/2021 season, after finishing as the club’s top scorer in the 2019/2020 campaign.

He has been named in Ghana's squad for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers double-header against Zimbabwe.
