Hearts of Oak: I will do my possible best to get Benjamin Afutu back to the team - Samuel Boadu

Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu has admitted that Benjamin Afutu absence in their game against Cl Kamsar was felt and will do anything to get the midfielder back to the team.

The energetic midfielder played a crucial for the Phobians last season in their bid of winning the domestic treble.

Afutu scored 7 goals for them in all competitions for the Rainbow club last season.

However, the 25-year-old is yet to sign a new deal with the club and was out of the team squad over the weekend despite training with the team.

Speaking in an interview, Boadu said Afutu's absence definitely has been realised and will offer all he could to get him extend his contract since he still needs his service.

“No one can say Afutu’s absence wasn’t felt," he told Accra based Happy FM.

"Even off the field of play, he is very disciplined and I love the boy so much and I wish he’s here with us.

"For Afutu, no doubt I will do my possible best to get him back," he added.

Hearts of Oak last Sunday, edged out their Guinean counterparts Club Industriel de Kamsar by 2-0 to cruise to the next stage of the CAF Champions League prelims.

The Ghana Premier League champions will face 2017 champions Wydad Athletic Club from Morocco next month.
