Ghana’s female senior national team, the Black Queens have earlier today left the shores of the country for Nigeria for the maiden Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s tournament.

Mercy Tagoe and her 23-woman squad will be based in Lagos for the six-team competition.

Ghana’s Black Queens, two-time runners-up of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, will take on Cameroon and South Africa in Group B, while hosts Nigeria face Morocco and Mali are in Group A.

Ghana will use the competition to prepare for their AWCON qualifier against Nigeria in October.

Organizers announced on Sunday that all the six matches of the international showpiece in honour of the name and Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will now be held at the remodelled and upgraded Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
