Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis are on the verge of signing Charles Diawisie Taylor from Ghana Premier League side, Karela United.
The young and enterprising striker emerged the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League golden boot winner with 18 goals.
Taylor has been a subject of interest from many a club on the African continent following his explosive performance.
He provided 7 assists and contributed 25 – representing 59.5% – of the 42 goals scored by Karela last season.
Taylor is expected to sign a four-year contract if he passes a mandatory medical in the ensuing days, Tunisian website Foot 24 also reported.
Espérance will reportedly pay Karela United an agreed $150,000 as a transfer fee while there is a 20% onward fee in the event of a future transfer.
Once the switch materializes, Diawisie Taylor will become the second Ghanaian – after Percious Boah – to join the new-look young Espérance squad ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Local giants Asante Kotoko were reported to have moved for Taylor’s signature but could not meet the valuation of the ‘Pride and Passion’ side’s most-prized asset.
