Former Hearts of Oak striker, Abednego Tetteh believes the Indian Premier League is far better than the Ghana Premier League.

According to the lanky forward, the perception that the Indians are only good at in acting movies and not football is incorrect because their football league is miles ahead of that of Ghana.

“I’ve had the chance to play in India. India football and their league are 80% higher than the Ghana Premier League. I always laugh when I hear some journalists underrating Indian football. If someone sits back there and says Indians are only good in acting movies, it’s never true,” the former Bechem United striker told Ashaiman TV.

He added, “Our own captain Asamoah Gyan can testify to that. India football is not what we are doing here. Every week they make sure they invite panellists from the EPL, show the matches live, and discuss them.

“They also have players from different countries who are playing in the league. They were colonised by England, so they do their things like the English.

“Here in Ghana, it’s only Fabio Gama and one or two players from Nigeria who have come to play here.”

Abednego Tetteh played for Indian professional league side TRAU FC in the 2019-2020 season before joining Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.

The former Bechem United attacker had his contract with Hearts of Oak was terminated after he underperformed at the Ghana Premier League club and currently remains a free agent.
