Crystal Palace has been dealt a massive injury blow with midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp picking up a knock in Ghana’s game against Ethiopia on Friday night.

The Black Stars today locked horns with the Walia ibex at the Cape Coast Stadium in the opening Group G game of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Handed a starting role for the match, Jeffrey Schlupp made a good account of himself in the early parts of the game but could not last the entire 45 minutes.

The utility player went down in the 27th minute while complaining of a painful hamstring.

Although the medical team of the Ghana national team had a look at his condition, he could not continue and signaled that he is changed.

Today’s injury comes as a big blow for Crystal Palace with the team still chasing for its first win in the English Premier League since the 2021/2022 football season started.

Meanwhile, Ghana leads by a lone goal to nil at halftime through a thunderbolt strike from midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.
