This year's Peugeot Challenge Open golf championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, August 18.
Mr Gilbert Morgan, Captain of the Club who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said the one-day 18-hole stableford competition open to amateur golfers throughout the country, is being jointly sponsored by Prestige Motor Company Limited and Air Afrique.
He said the winners in both Men's and Ladies events of the competition
which is being played in 20 countries worldwide simultaneously, will represent Ghana in the "Magical Setting-Disneyland Paris Golf Championship" in France in September, this year.
Mr Morgan named some of the competitors who have registered from Achimota Golf Club for the event, expected to attract over 200 competitors, were Abdulai Azand, Charles Abandoh, Adotsoo Brown, Justice Akom and Wisdom Amenyo.
Meanwhile, all is set for the Ghana Golf Association Seniors Open
Championship scheduled for Takoradi from August 18 to 19.
The competition, opened to senior golfers aged 50 years and above is being sponsored by Ghana Oil Company.
Mrs Sophia Honer-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister is the guest of honour.
