MTN FA Cup final: Hearts v Ashgold clash to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium

The MTN FA Cup final between Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Gold SC will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This has been confirmed by an official communique on the website of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

“The Accra Sports stadium will host the final of the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup on Sunday, August 08, 2021,” a GFA communique on its website reads.

Over the weekend, the semi-final stage of the oldest knockout tournament in Ghana’s history was cleared.

In the first of the games played on Sunday afternoon at the Cape Coast Stadium, Ashanti Gold SC defeated Berekum Chelsea 4-1 after extra time to book a place in the finals.

Later in the evening at the same venue, Hearts of Oak hammered Medeama SC 3-0 to also advance to set up a mouth-watering final with the Miners.

Ahead of the clash next weekend, the Ghana FA is set to work with the FA Cup committee to bring out a thrilling euphoria to climax this season’s domestic cup competition.

Hearts of Oak will go into the finals as the favourites especially after emerging as Champions of the Ghana Premier League this season.

For AshGold, the team takes motivation from the fact that they picked four points from the Phobians in the league.

With the desire to play in Africa next season, the Miners should give the league Champions a good run for their money on Sunday evening.
