Ghana international, Christian Atsu has advised young players to grab a national team opportunity with both hands if the need arises.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger has been out of the Black Stars for some time now due to incessant injuries that have rocked the smooth sailing of his career.

Having had a respectable international career, he urges every youth given the Black Stars chance to make good use of the time.

“You don’t have many chances in the Black Stars team, a lot of people are fighting for position so when you have your chance you just take it," he told TV3.

“This is football and it’s about chance.

“Now everybody knows how to play football so just take your chances.

“Don’t tell yourself that, I’m young when I grow up you know, [Kylian] Mbappe, how old is Mbappe, how old is [Erling] Haaland, they are all playing at this age so you can also play at the top level,” Christian Atsu said.

Atsu recently signed a 2-year contract with Saudi Arabia club, Al Raed after leaving the English Premier League side, New Castle United on a free.

He has played 69 times for the Black Stars, scoring 9 goals in the process.
