The management of Asante Kotoko are set to part ways with head coach of the side, Mariano Barreto according to reports.
The Ghana Premier League ended the 2020/21 football season trophyless under the former Black Stars head coach.
The Porcupine Warriors lost the Premier League title to their sworn rivals, Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko were hoping to defend the MTN FA Cup title but lost to Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
Barreto's side hosted Chelsea at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium and after extra time, Kotoko lost on 4-5 on penalty shootouts to end their season trophyless.
After Kotoko's elimination, multiple reports in the local media suggest that Barreto is set to be shown the exit.
The Portuguese gaffer was named as the head coach of the club prior to the start of the second half of the season after Maxwell Konadu was sacked in December after losing to Great Olympics.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Tanko is set to be named as the new head coach of the club ahead of the 2021/22 Ghana football season.
Tanko has served as the assistant coach of the Black Stars from 2017 to 2019 under Kwasi Appiah's reign as the head coach of the senior national team.
Asante Kotoko finished the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season on the 2nd position with 57 points and exited the MTN FA Cup at the quarterfinal of the competition.
