APR 30, 2021 LISTEN

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) SC have climbed closer to the top four of the Ghana Premier League table after coming from behind to defeat Berekum Chelsea 3-2.

The Academy Boys on Friday afternoon traveled to Techiman where they locked horns with the matchday 22 opponent at the Golden City Park.

Failing to start on a good note, WAFA SC trailed in the first minute when Bright Amponsah scored to shoot Berekum Chelsea into an early lead.

Forced to regroup and gradually grow into the match, the visitors came in strong and drew level in the 21st minute through an equalizer from teenager Justice Tortsutsey.

Just three minutes later, Enoch Asubonteng was presented with a good chance and made no mistake as he scored to give WAFA SC the lead for the first time in the game.

Unfortunately, the team could not hold on and allowed Berekum Chelsea to score a second in the 44th minute through talisman Stephen Amankona to force the first half to end in a stalemate.

In the second half of plenty of action, WAFA SC came out tops with a goal from Abdul Basit Issah powering the side to defeat Berekum Chelsea 3-2 at the end of the game.

The hard-fought away win takes the Academy Boys to 6th on the Ghana Premier league table with 32 points.
