The matchday 19 games has ended at the various stadia with some impressive results.

Asante Kotoko are now sitting top of the league following their win. Great Olympics winning streak has been crashed by Legon Cities as Hearts of Oak suffered their first defeat under Samuel Boadu.

Asante Kotoko were the only side in the top four to pick up a victory. New signing Andy Kumi continued with his impressive start grabbing the opener for Kotoko.

Berekum Chelsea missed a penalty as a late goal from Godfred Asiamah secured all three points for the Porcupines.

The result sends Kotoko to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table.

Karela’s poor start to the second round continued as they lost to 2-0 to Inter Allies.

It was a fourth home victory for Inter Allies who needed all three points considering their relegation candidates picked up wins.

Goals from Suleman Nafiu and Stephen Armah ensured that Inter Allies pick up all three points.

Karela now fall into third place, two points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.

Great Olympics also slipped into second after a disappointing performance against Legon Cities.

The Royals remained compact and were clinical winning 2-0.

Second-half goals from Nicholas Mensah and Jonah Attuquaye gave Bashir Hayford a much-needed win.

Legon Cities remain four points above the relegation zone but Olympics fall from first place to second.

Aduana Stars needed goals and went into the market for Benjamin Tweneboah during the second transfer window.

The former Elmina Sharks forward announced himself scoring a brace for Aduana against King Faisal.

Prince Acquah increased Aduana’s tally on the day but Isaac Frimpong scored a consolation for King Faisal.

Tweneboah wasn’t the only signing to steal the headlines on Sunday afternoon.

Ahmed Toure, who also joined Medeama during the second transfer window scored a brace against Dreams FC.

In a must-win game for Medeama, Toure popped up with a goal in each half to move the Mauve and Yellows into the top four.

Dreams had to end the game with ten men as Farhadu Suleiman was shown a straight red card in the first half.

WAFA secured a narrow 1-0 win over Bechem United in Sokagope on Sunday in Match Week 19 action.

Both teams missed opportunities to take the lead early in the first half but failed to find the back of the net.

But it was Lawrence Agyekum who broke the deadlock for the home team in the 43rd minute to give WAFA a slim advantage heading into the break.

The visitors fought hard to find an equalizer but to no avail.

Hearts of Oak missed a first-half penalty and were punished by same at the death in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 19 visit to AshantiGold on Saturday afternoon.

An eventful opening 45 minutes at Len Clay Stadium saw both sides fluff many chances including a penalty kick by the Phobians in the 18th minute.

Victor Aidoo who had converted all three of his spot-kicks this season failed this time around after Patrick Razak was caught late by the trailing leg of AshantiGold left-back Samed Mohammed.

The game to be heading for a goalless stalemate until the Miners were awarded a controversial penalty in the second minute of added time.

Hearts captain Fatawu Mohammed was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

AshantiGold captain Amos Addai stepped up and converted the spot-kick to give the Miners maximum points.

The defeat is a first in three for Hearts coach Samuel Boadu.

Liberty Professionals ended a 4-game losing streak with a thumping 4-0 win over Elmina Sharks at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Saturday.

Liberty, who have adopted WAFA’s home ground for their GPL home matches as a result of the suspension of their Carl Reindorf Park, found goals through Paul Kwame, Simon Asamoah, Kwaku Karikari and new signing William Opoku Mensah to condemn Nii Odartey Lamptey to a first defeat as Elmina Sharks coach.

The Scientific Soccer Lads remain in 17th place despite the win while Sharks remain in 13th place with 23 points.

Ebusua Dwarfs and Techiman Eleven Wonders played out a 1-1 draw at home on Friday Match week 19 of the Ghana Premier League.

The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute through Michael Ohene Asamoah but that advantage would not last long as Eleven Wonders leveled 2 minutes later through Clement Boahen.

Dwarfs’ new signing Morishita who came on as a substitute in the 64th minute had the ball in the back of the net 3 minutes later but the goal was disallowed for an offside.

Ebusua Dwarfs are 11th on the league log after Match week 19 while Eleven Wonders sit in 14th place.
