Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are now within reach of winning the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League title after moving into the top four at the end of matchday 18.

The Phobians last Sunday hosted Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium in what was arguably the toughest fixture of the weekend.

On the back of a top performance from the Rainbow lads, they managed to win 2-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.

The win pushed the team to third on the league log temporarily as Hearts of Oak awaited the result from Asante Kotoko’s outstanding match against Bechem United.

On Wednesday when the Porcupine Warriors hosted the Hunters at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium, they won emphatically by four goals to nothing to the delight of fans.

As a result, Asante Kotoko have leapfrogged Hearts of Oak to go third while the capital-based club drops to fourth on the Ghana Premier League standings.

With just three points separating the teams in the top four as Great Olympics lead the chart with 33 points, the second round of the league campaign is expected to be exciting.

Record champions Asante Kotoko now have a big chance of challenging for the title as well as rivals Hearts of Oak.

Meanwhile, Great Olympics [first place] and Karela United [second place] cannot be overlooked.

The two teams impressed in the first round and equally have a good chance of pushing to become champions at the end of the season.
