Striker Andy Kumi Francis handed first starting role for Kotoko ahead of Bechem Utd game

Youngster Andy Kumi Francis is set to start for Asante Kotoko for the first time today after being named in the first eleven of the side for the Bechem United match.

The prolific attacker joined the Porcupine Warriors club from Unistar Soccer Academy at the end of the first round of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

After impressing head coach Mariano Barreto in training, Andy Kumi Francis has now been handed the chance to impress.

Ahead of kick-off to Asante Kotoko’s outstanding match against Bechem United, the Portuguese gaffer has named the youngster as the main striker for his team.

He will be supported from the flanks by wingers Emmanuel Gyamfi and Augustine Okrah.

Andy Kumi Francis will hope to get on the scoresheet to keep his play in the Asante Kotoko starting eleven.

Meanwhile, Brazilian striker Michael Vinicius has been named on the Asante Kotoko bench and he could also mark his official debut if introduced in the second half of the match.

Today’s encounter between Asante Kotoko and Bechem United is scheduled to be played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium and will kick-off at 15:00GMT.
