The news of LaMarcus Aldridge joining the Brooklyn Nets didn’t sit too well with Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

The eldest son of The King appeared to have posted a story of a tweet that reacted to Aldridge going to Brooklyn, saying: “All this to stop a 36-year old man in Year 18.” He coupled that with five emojis of straight faces.

The Nets are obviously the biggest threat to the Lakers as they seek to defend their NBA championship. Aldridge’s arrival comes after they recently acquired former Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin, also via the buyout route.

Though the two former All-NBA big men are no longer in their primes, they are still significant additions to an already loaded Nets squad led by the superstar trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving.

The Lakers are obviously still among the heavy favourites to go back-to-back, but Brooklyn’s squad featuring three current All-Stars and three former All-Stars is a huge threat to their throne.

Los Angeles is also currently in the midst of a critical juncture of their season. Their two superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both out with their respective injuries. James is slated to miss four to six weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain, while Davis continues to recover from a tricky calf strain injury.

The Lakers hoped to add Aldridge themselves, but it seems like Brooklyn’s depth swayed him towards the Nets.

Nonetheless, all hope is not lost for the defending champions as they are reportedly the front-runners to land Andre Drummond, who was recently bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers. And of course, as long King James and The Brow are at full strength, it’s going to be hard to take down the Purple and Gold in a 7-game series.
