Ghana international John Boye registered an assist on Saturday afternoon to inspire FC Metz to come from behind to defeat Bordeaux 2-1 in the French Ligue 1.

The centre-back today was named in the starting eleven of his team when they visited the Matmut Atlantique grounds to take on the matchday 27 of the ongoing campaign.

Following a slow start to the game by John Boye and his teammates, they trailed after just 14 minutes when Samuel Kalu scored with an assist from Youssouf Sabaly to shoot Bordeaux into the lead.

Staging a comeback, the Black Stars defender rallied his defensive partners to play at the top level in the remaining minutes of the first half to stop the home team from adding to their tally.

In a hard-fought battle in the second half, John Boye set-up Thomas Delaine to score to restore parity for FC Metz.

Pushing on to search for the win, the visitors stunned the favourites with a late equalizer from Vagner to seal a 2-1 win at the end of the match.

For his outstanding 90 minutes display, John Boye finished with a rating of 7.1 according to detailed statistics from SofaScore.
