GHPL: Impressive WAFA SC recover from a goal down to thump Karela Utd 3-1

WAFA SC put on an impressive performance on Wednesday afternoon to thump Karela United 3-1 in the Ghana Premier League.

The team in Sogakope today played as a host to the side from Anyinase that currently sits top of the table of the ongoing 2020/2021 league season.

Fancied to pick the win, Karela United lived up to the expectations and had a very bright start. After 17 minutes into the game, the visitors scored through Kwame Boateng to take the lead and looked like they would go on to thrash the home team.

However, a good response from WAFA SC meant that it was game on after 22 minutes of action.

Augustine Boakye scored with a smart finish to draw level for the Academy lads before a strike from Ntim Manu shot the hosts into the lead in the 31^st minute.

Though Karela United will put on a fight in the second half in a bid to chase a comeback, the team could not get on the scoresheet.

In the end, a late WAFA SC equalizer ensured that the team cruised to a delightful 3-1 win to move to 9^th on the Ghana Premier League table.
