Outspoken football administrator, Kofi Manu has advised the management of Asante Kotoko to drop any plans to file an appeal to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after losing the case against four former players.

In separate petitions, Abass Mohammed, Mathew Kelvin Andoh and Stephen Tetteh Aryiku and Evans Owusu, all dragged the Porcupine Warriors club to the Players Status Committee over the unilateral termination of their contracts.

Seeking compensation, all four players have seen the Players Status Committee ruling in their favour.

Asante Kotoko as a result have been ordered to settle all four players in what will cost the club whopping sum of GHS198,000.

Not pleased with the ruling, the Ghanaian giants have written to the GFA making it clear they want to file an appeal.

Sharing his thoughts on the matter, veteran football administrator Kofi Manu has disclosed that an appeal will be a move in futility.

“The player status committee's decisions are not appealed according to the status of the FA and I can tell you that the status is unsatisfactory and irrelevant and needs to be amended. I don't understand the people who sat down and made such a law and those who accepted it for it to be used for our football,” he told Ashh FM in an interview.

According to Kofi Manu, Asante Kotoko should accept the verdict from the Players Status Committee and settle the four players what they are due.

“I will advise the chief executive officer and the management to humble themselves and settle the issue amicably with the players and their management.

“They are in a covid-19 moment and they can't pay such amount now so they should give them a payment plan for them to settle them only if the players will accept,” Kofi Manu added.
