Trabzonspor forward Caleb Ekuban and FC Metz defender John Boye have been named in the top 10 Ghana players abroad following their stellar performances for their teams over the weekend.

In the pool of players playing their football abroad, a number of players featured for the clubs over the weekend with some enjoying wins at the end of 90 minutes of football.

Caleb Ekuban leads the charge as the best player from the weekend having starred for his Trabzonspor outfit in their match against Gençlerbirliği in the Turkish Super Lig.

The forward displayed outstanding form on the matchday with his assist for his team’s first goal plus his equalizer in the second half sealing a massive 2-1 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Meriting a rating of 8.6 after playing 80 minutes on the matchday, Caleb Ekuban makes the list of top 10 Ghana players abroad as the star of the weekend.

Making the list is a number of defenders including Alexander Djiku, John Boye, as well as Gideon Mensah.

The trio played key roles for their teams but the efforts of John Boye stand out particularly because this is his third week in a row making the list of top 10 players abroad.

The experienced defender continues to be pivotal for FC Metz and over the weekend assisted a goal for the team when they defeated FC Nantes 2-0 in the French Ligue 1 to amass three crucial points.

His rating of 7.4 gives him a spot on the list.

The likes of Bright Gyamfi, Patrick Twumasi, Christopher Antwi Adjei, Samuel Owusu, Daniel Amartey, and Kennedy Boateng completes the list.

Meanwhile, in some transfer news, Ghanaian forward John Yeboah over the weekend sealed a loan move from Willem II Tilburg to Dutch lower-tier club Almere City FC.

It is understood that free-agent Kwadwo Asamoah is set to complete a move to Italian Serie A side Cagliari this week as well.
