Ghana's failure to qualify for CHAN surprising - Hearts of Oak coach Kosta Papic
Hearts of Oak head coach, Kosta Papic has said he is surprised with Ghana's qualification for the ongoing 2020 African Nations Championship [CHAN].
The Black Stars B failed to book a qualification for the tournament in Cameroon.
Ghana, a two-time finalist in the competition has failed to qualify on three consecutive occasions under former Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu.
However, according to the Serbian trainer, he is surprised Ghana did not book a place as he strongly believes the country has a lot of quality players.
“I'm very surprised Ghana did not qualify for the CHAN competition. For me, that is very strange," he told Kumasi based Pure FM.
"I believe Ghana has quality players to play in that competition,” he added.
Papic after taking over Accra Hearts of Oak on December 1, 2020, from Edward Nii Odoom has been impressive, guiding the club to 5th position with 15 points after 9 round of matches.
