Ex-Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu refutes joining Berekum Chelsea

Former Asante Kotoko and Wa All Stars head coach, Maxwell Konadu has dismissed reports claiming he is on the verge of joining Berekum Chelsea.

Konadu, a former Black Stars was shown the exit on December 17 after losing to Accra Great Olympics by a lone goal in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Reports on Monday in the local media suggested that Konadu is edging closer to join Chelsea.

The Berekum based side have been without a substantive coach following the sacking of Hesse Odamtten.

But sources close to the camp of the 48-year-old gaffer has described the reports as ‘fake news' linking him to the former Premier League champions.

It is unclear if Chelsea will, in the near future consider engaging the services of Maxwell, but what is definite is that, the two parties has not spoken nor reached an agreement to work together.

Berekum Chelsea sits 15th on the league log with nine points and will play rejuvenated Hearts of Oak in the matchday 10 fixtures this weekend.
