Ghana international Alfred Duncan has sealed his move to Italian Serie A side Cagliari in a loan deal for the rest of the season.

As reported by Modernghana Sports last Friday, the club has in the last couple of weeks been in talks with Fiorentina over the possibility of securing the services of the midfielder.

After successful talks, Cagliari has today announced that they have completed the loan signing of Alfred Duncan with the option of a permanent deal at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

“Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce that it signed from Fiorentina the player Alfred Duncan, who moves to Sardinia on loan with an option to definitive transfer,” part of a statement from the club has said.

It concludes, “An experienced player, he can cover all the roles of the midfield, and arrives at Cagliari at the peak of his maturity: muscles and substance for the Rossoblù midfield.

“Welcome to Sardinia, Alfred!.”
Cagliari thus becomes the sixth club Alfred Duncan has played for in Italy. The midfielder has been given the number 32 jersey and has linked up with former manager Eusebio Di Francesco who he worked with during his time at Sassuolo.
