Resilient Karela United draw goalless with Hearts of Oak to stay top of Ghana Premier League
Karela United put up a resilient performance on Friday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium to draw goalless with Hearts of Oak on Matchday Four of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians went into today’s game hungry for a win after failing to taste victory in the first two matches of the season.
In the first half where the team emerged as the better side, they were held to a goalless draw by a well-oiled Karela United side that displayed defending of the highest standard.
Returning from the break to continue to push, Hearts of Oak made strides and managed to create decent goal scoring opportunities.
Unfortunately, league leaders Karela United had the antidote for the attacks and stood strong to hold on to the draw at the end of the 90 minutes.
Today’s draw means Hearts of Oak stays in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League standings while Karela United maintain their top spot.
