CAF Confed Cup: Ashgold will beat Salitas FC 2-0 to qualify – Dr. Kwaku Frimpong

The majority shareholder of Ashanti Gold SC, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has expressed optimism in the chances of the team beating Salitas FC next weekend to book qualification to the next phase of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Drawn against the Burkina Faso opponent, the Ghanaian side played as the host team in the first tie of the two-legged encounter last Sunday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

Unfortunately, they could not capitalize on the home advantage and drew goalless at the end of the 90 minutes.

Now needing to beat Salitas FC by all means in the reverse fixture, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong says it is doable. According to him, the Miners will go to Burkina Faso to beat the opponent by two goals to nil.

“I will assure the people of Adansi and Ghana that we will go and beat Salitas. We will score them 2-0 and progress,” the tough-talking bankroller said in an interview.

Meanwhile, Ashanti Gold SC head coach Milovan Cirkovic has named a 20-man squad today for the crucial away encounter in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The clash against Salitas FC is scheduled to be played in Ouagadougou on Saturday, December 5, 2020.
