Ghana Premier League: Ex-Kotoko Striker Describes Fabio Gama Signing As 'Useless'

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure believes the signing of Brazilian midfielder, Fabio Gama was 'useless' and 'needless'.

The 28-year-old joined the Ghana Premier League side on a two-year deal before the start of the 2020/21 Ghana football season.

The former Brazilian U-17 star is yet to make his debut for the club despite training with the club for the past week.

Gama was unused in their matchday 2 game against Berkum Chelsea at the Berekum Golden City Park.

Ahad of their Caf Champions League game against Nouadhibou FC, the 28-year-old has been dropped for the 21 man squad.

And according to Toure, the playing conditions in the country may not permit him to excel.

"We will pray for him because I have said that the Ghana Premier League is not easy," he told Energy FM.

"It is a game of 'men' but it also depends on the condition he will play in Ghana.

"I have seen pictures of the pitch Berekum Chelsea and Kotoko played on. Do you think he [Gama] can play on this kind of pitch? Or you take him to Dormaa, do you think he can play well over there? Are you sure he can play at Tarkwa? Sometimes these things matter.

"So for me, although Kotoko is my former team and it's where I started my professional career but for me, I think it is useless," he added.
