Experienced striker, Hans Kwoffie scored twice on Tuesday night to earn a draw for Ashanti Gold SC in their encounter against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

The Miners locked horns with the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium today in a Matchday 2 fixture of the 2020/2021 Premier League season.

In the first half of many chances, Hearts of Oak wasted a lot of chances but still led at the break courtesy of a 32nd-minute strike from youngster Kojo Obeng Jnr.

After recess, the Phobians continued to dominate but failed to take advantage to increase their tally.

In the 56th minute, Ashanti Gold SC found a way into the area of the home team when David Abagna produced a moment of magic. The attacking midfielder teed up striker Hans Kwoffie who equalized to draw level for the visitors.

With momentum now on the side of the away team, Hearts of Oak saw the need to up their game and staged a fight to restore their lead.

Fortunately, the side had the quality as Patrick Razak assisted Kojo Obeng Jnr for his second in the 80th minute.

At this point, it looked certain for Hearts of Oak to go on to win it as the team continued to enjoy the lion's share of possession.

The team will however be denied all 3 points in added time with Hans Kwoffie popping up to score again to complete his brace for the night.

In the end, Hearts of Oak has been forced to share the spoils with Ashanti Gold SC in the team’s first match of the new Premier League season.
