The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has warned clubs illegally filming Premier League matches to desist from the act or risk facing the full force of the law.

The rights to film the Ghanaian top-flight league was awarded to StarTimes prior to the start of the 2019/2020 football season.

With the 2020/2021 Premier League commencing last weekend, some clubs have tried to film the matches for different reasons.

In a communique from the Ghana FA today, they are warning all clubs and stakeholders to desists from the act.

“The Ghana Football Association has cautioned all Clubs and Stakeholders to desist from illegal filming of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

“In a letter from the Association addressed to all Clubs and stakeholders, the GFA emphasized that illegal filming infringes on the Contractual agreement with Broadcast partners Startimes Ghana and anyone found culpable will be dragged to the Law Court.

“However, recorded copies will be made available to all interested Clubs for educational and analytical purposes while the media should consult Startimes Ghana for highlights contents for their various shows,” a communique on the website of the GFA has said.
