Ghana will be without Captain Andre Dede Ayew on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, when the team faces off with Sudan in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Swansea City star scored a sensational brace last Thursday to power the Black Stars to a 2-0 win against Sudan in the first leg of the two ties in this international break.

Having picked up an injury in training yesterday, Andre Ayew is now set to miss the reserve fixture scheduled to be played in Khartoum.

“Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has been ruled out of the trip to Sudan for the second leg of the 2021 AFCON qualifier due to injury.

“The Swansea City midfielder suffered a muscle strain at the team’s training session on Saturday, ruling him out of the squad for the trip,” a statement on the website of the Ghana FA has said today.

Andre Ayew is now set to miss the planned trip to Sudan this afternoon and will instead travel to Swansea to undergo further tests to assess the extent of the injury.
