Kudjoe Fianoo Applauds GFA on GHS250K Prize Money For GPL Winner

The Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has applauded the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the prize money put on the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

On Thursday evening, the President of the GFA, Kurt E.S Okraku announced at the launch of the 2020/2021 season that the winner of the Premier League at the end of the campaign will take home GHS250,000 as prize money.

In addition, the teams that finish second and third will receive GHS150,000 and GHS80,000 respectively while all the 18 participating clubs will benefit from vouchers worth GHS10,000 from partners, Melcom Ghana.

Speaking to Hot FM today on the packages, Kudjoe Fianoo has commended the country’s football governing body for the efforts.

“I will say hallelujah, I applaud the GFA as the winner of the 20/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) will smile home with a whopping GH¢250,000 as prize money because this is far better than previous prize money of our Leagues”, the GHALCA chairman said on Friday morning.

He continued, “The GFA has been good so far. More is yet to come under this GFA administration and note that second-placed team would receive GHS150,000, medals, and products from sponsors”.

Winners for the Division One League and the Women’s Premier League will all benefit from juicy monetary packages at the end of the season.
