It Was Always A Privilege To Play For The National Team – Sulley Muntari

Veteran midfielder, Sulley Muntari has indicated that it was always a privilege to play for the Ghana male senior national team while extending appreciation to all for the support.

Now 36-years of age, the former AC Milan superstar was a key member of the Black Stars team between 2002 and 2014.

Not only did he feature at multiple Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments but he did same for the FIFA World Cup tournaments as well.

Opening up on representing his country, Sulley Muntari has shared that it made him happy because it was always an honour to put on the national colours.

“I really appreciate every support and every time since I started my career, the support from Ghanaians, my family, and all, I really appreciate it.

“So all the time I put on the colours for Ghana it is a privilege for me, it makes me happy. I have never had doubts when playing and even when I'm sick I always did my best for myself, to the nation and for the people”, Sulley Muntari said in an interview with Richmond K. Entsie.

Meanwhile, Muntari has extolled players he spent time with at the Black Stars throughout the period he was an integral member of the team. There are special mentions for Richard Kingson, Laryea Kingston, Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Michael Essien, Eric Addo, Derrick Boateng, and some others as well.
