Asante Kotoko has defeated Odweanoma FC 3-0 in a pre-season friendly match as the team steps up training ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 football season.

The Ghana Premier League giants locked horns with the lower-tier outfit at the All Nations University Park in Koforidua today for a warm-up exercise to give manager Maxwell Konadu the chance to assess his team.

The gaffer started the match with a lineup that had goalkeeper Felix Anan in the post, and debuts for new signings Yussif Mubarik, Emmanuel Sarkodie, and Emmanuel Keyekeh.

In the second half, a different set of eleven players including goalkeeper Kwame Baah, winger Emmanuel Gyamfi and strikers Kwame Opoku and William Opoku Mensah also had a chance to play.

At the end of the friendly encounter against Odweanoma FC, Asante Kotoko cruised to an emphatic 3-0 win courtesy strikes from Osman Ibrahim, Naby Keita, and Kwame Opoku.

The Porcupine Warriors club is expected to wrap up the pre-season training in Koforidua next week and will reportedly travel to Dubai for the third phase of preparations for the upcoming football season.
