The head coach of the Ghana senior national team, C.K Akonnor has indicated that his team will approach the friendly against Qatar today different from how they went into the Mali game.

The Black Stars suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Eagles last Friday in a friendly match staged in Antalya, Turkey, at the Emir Hotel Sports Complex.

Later this evening, Ghana will play its last friendly match in this international break against Qatar.

Previewing the upcoming match, Ghana head coach CK Akonnor has noted that the approach will be different.

“Approach is going to be different. First of all, against Mali we were not compact and I am looking forward to improve in that area to be compact and of course how we approach, how we attack. How we attack in the way of offensive play was not effective and we need to improve in that area and of course defensively we allowed too many chances to the opponent”, the coach said in an interview with the Communications team of the Ghana FA.

Coach CK Akonnor continued, “We worked on it yesterday, we have discussed it, today we going to continue and hopefully tomorrow you will see a lot improvement. I am very, very positive about that and I know that we will improve in that area”.

The game between Ghana and Qatar will kick-off at 15:30GMT today.
