The captain of the Ghana male senior national team, Andre Ayew says the friendly encounter against Mali later today will be a very tough match.

The Black Stars have been billed to take on their fellow West African country today before going on to face off with Qatar in another friendly match on Monday.

The two games are to help the team prepare for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Sudan in November.

Speaking in an interview concerning the two matches, Andre Ayew says they will be tough.

“Two tough games. Qatar are the Asian Champions and Mali is a very good team. They have built a squad in the past few years which has become one of the top squads in Africa”, the Ghana captain said as quoted on the website of the GFA.

Ayew added, “…..we are ready for them, like I said, they have a full squad, full house, they are coming with everybody. We can say that we have a lot of new players in the squad. New players that the staff wants to see, so we are going to go to this pitch and give everything that we have and make sure that we give Ghanaians something to smile about”.

The Swansea City poster boy believes the Ghana team will give everything in both matches to earn positive results.

“But we are not going to sit here and make predictions. I know that the boys will give everything that they have because these are boys who have come into the team and dream to stay in the Black Stars”, Ayew concluded.

The friendly against Mali will kick off at 17:00GMT at the Emir Hotel Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
