CK Akonnor Determined To Improve Black Stars - Thomas Partey

Midfielder Thomas Partey has lauded Black Stars gaffer, CK Akonnor for his determination to help improve Black Stars.

Akonnor, who has been tasked to end the country's 38 years Afcon trophy drought in Cameroon will be in the dugout for the first time when Ghana play Mali and Qatar in an international friendly.

Partey, who joined Arsenal on transfer deadline day has teamed up with his teammates in Antalya.

According to him, he is impressed with the attitude of the players at camp and teh determination of the coach to help improve the team.

"We are having a good competition in the team; all the guys are training well," he told Ghanafa.org.

"I think this will help the team to improve, everyone will be on their feet trying to win the heart of the coach and also give more pressure on those that think that they are comfortable, it will energise them to be on their toes to fight to maintain their place in the team," he said.

"Today is not the first day of working with him, you know we already played with him and I think he is doing all he can so that we will be comfortable and you know we won our last game and we will see what will happen against Mali and Qatar," he said.

The Black Stars will play Mali on Friday, October 9 before playing Qatar on October 12.
