Midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that there is a lot of competition in the camp of the Black Stars team ahead of their friendly matches against Mali and Qatar.
Ghana is scheduled to face off with its West African counterparts and the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in this international break as part of preparations for the resumption of the qualifiers to the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Although most of the regular players missed out on invites for the upcoming friendly match, Thomas Partey who is in the camp of the Black Stars believes there is enough competition.
According to him, all the players are training well and it will help improve the team.
“We are having a good competition in the team; all the guys are training well. I think this will help the team to improve, everyone will be on their feet trying to win the heart of the Coach and also give more pressure on those that think that they are comfortable, it will energize them to be on their toes to fight to maintain their place in the team”, Partey said in an interview as quoted on the GFA website.
The two matches against Mali and Qatar will be played in Turkey on Friday, October 9, and Monday, October 12, respectively.
