Head coach for the Ghana U-20 women’s team, Yusif Basigi has indicated that he is impressed with the conditioning and tactical play of his team after staying in camp for 5 weeks.

The Black Princesses team is set to take on its counterpart from Guinea Bissau in a crunch encounter in the qualifiers to the 2021 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

As part of preparations, Coach Yusif Basigi and his players have been in camp for over a month now.

Speaking on the progress of training so far, the gaffer has revealed that he has seen major improvement even though the team still requires some finishing touches.

“The five-week camping has not been in vain. We have worked on our players both Maidens and Princesses and are seeing glimpses of all that we have been teaching them, just that we still have one or two touches to do but in all, it has been very impressive for both teams”, the coach said in an interview with the communications team of the GFA.

Coach Basigi continued, “I think the players are well conditioned, my players and the Maidens have played a number of friendly games. They are well conditioned and appear very hungry no matter the crunch tackles and physicality in the games, they were on their feet. I am so much impressed with their conditioning and tactical play”.

The date for Ghana’s clash against Guinea Bissau is yet to be announced by CAF. However, reports suggest that it could be in November
