Andre Ayew Will Succeed As Black Stars Captain - Kwarasey

Goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey has expressed confidence in Adre Ayew succeeding as Black Stars captain.

Ayew has been retained as the captain of the senior national team under CK Akonnor as the head coach with Richard Ofori and Thomas Partey acting deputies.

Kwarasey described the Swansea City superstar as a natural leader and believes he has what it takes to lead the Black Stars to success.

"Andre will probably do well, he is a natural leader. Always 100 per cent on the pitch and a good player as well, so no doubt about that," he told Citi Sports.

"I have no idea how it went down so I don’t even want to comment on it. I just read about it and never asked anybody about it so I didn’t pay too much attention to it because I’ve realized that a lot of what you read in the media in Ghana is false.

"Just like people have written lately that I regret playing for Ghana; that’s false," he added.

Kwarasey played 24 times for the Black Stars and was a member of the Black Stars team at the World Cup in 2014.

Andre was named as the captain of the Black Stars ahead of teh 2019 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] in Egypt.
