Ghanaian youngster, Mohammed Kudus provided a crucial assist for Ajax on Saturday to help the club secure a 2-1 win against Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The former FC Nordsjaelland poster boy made his debut in the Eredivisie last weekend against KRC Waalwijk where he ended up scooping the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

Today, Kudus deservedly earned a starting role and played a key role in Ajax’s home win against their matchday 3 opponent of the recently started 2020/2021 Eredivisie season.

On the matchday, Quincy Promes opened the scoring for the Amsterdam-based club after 21 minutes of play after he was assisted by Noussair Mazraoui.

With the home team continuing to dominate, they will later be reduced to 10 men in the final minutes of the first half as Edson Alvarez was shown the red card.

After recess, Vitesse Arnhem capitalized on the man advantage scored to restore parity through a strike from Riechedly Bazoer on the 56th minute.

Later in the game, Mohammed Kudus displayed his creativity and assisted fellow summer signing Antony to score to restore the lead for Ajax.

The pulsating encounter that ensued from there on did not produce any goal with the home team holding on to beat Vitesse 2-1 at the end of the 90 minutes at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Mohammed Kudus, 20, lasted the entire duration of the game and finished with a decent rating of 6.8 from Modernghana Sports partners SofaScore.
