FC Nordsjaelland Sports Manager Jan Laursen has explained that the club decided to send Clinton Antwi on loan this season to help him continue his development.
The Ghanaian youngster on Wednesday morning completed a season-long loan move to Danish lower-tier league outfit Esbjerg fB to give them a squad boost for the 2020/2021 football season.
Speaking in an interview, Jan Laursen has touched on why there was the need to loan Clinton Antwi in the ongoing summer transfer window.
According to the FC Nordsjaelland Sports Manager, the club has a strong belief in the defender but wants him to play regularly to ensure he develops.
“We still have a strong belief in Clinton, but we agree that he needs more fighting time on the field to continue his development, fulfill his potential, and come back even stronger.
"He gets good opportunities for that in Esbjerg, and we know he will be in good hands with our former coach Ólafur Kristjánsson”, Jan Laursen explained as quoted on the website of FC Nordsjaelland.
Clinton Antwi, 20, made significant progress last season and has been tipped to finish this season as a much-improved left-back.
