Ghana Premier League heavyweights, Asante Kotoko are on the verge of signing a partnership agreement with English Premier League club Southampton.

According to the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Yaw Amponsah, Kotoko has reached a 90 per cent agreement with one of the Premier League teams and an announcement would be made in due time.

The Kotoko CEO did not disclose all the details to the press as he promised to make it official to the public and the club supporters alike when the two clubs deem the right time for the announcement.

Amponsah made these comments during the unveiling of the club’s new management team at the Sports Hotel in Kumasi on Tuesday.

“We are 90 per cent through signing a partnership deal with an English Premiership side.

"We want to pluck our club in them so we can have the replica, if not the same, of everything they have here," he said.

However, media report says that Southampton will become Kotoko’s official partner in the coming days.

Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed as Kotoko’s new CEO in August to manage the affairs of the club on a three-year mandate after the new Board of Directors dissolved the George Amoako-led administration.

The Ghana Premier League giant will begin camping on Wednesday, 22nd September ahead of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season and the CAF Champions League qualifying stages.
