Legon Cities FC has commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council for donating their monthly allowance to the victims of the Offinso accident.

On Saturday there was an accident involving about 34 young footballers of Africa Vision Soccer Academy claiming the lives of seven footballers as the minibus they were traveling in plunged into the Offinso river.

Sadly, six of the young footballers died on the spot while one who was in a critical condition died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Sunday.

On Monday, the Ghana FA through a communique on its website announced that the Executive Council has agreed to donate their allowance for the month of September 2020 to the Offinso accident victims.

Reacting to the decision by the Executive Council, Legon Cities FC has lauded the GFA.

“Great to hear that The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has taken a decision to donate their monthly allowance for the month of September 2020 to the Offinso accident victims. GHC 59,000 in total.

“Well done Ghana Football Association”, the club posted on its Twitter page.

Meanwhile, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed his condolences to the victims of last Saturday’s tragic car accident involving the young footballers on the Offinso road.
