Kotoko Offloading Defender Evans Owusu

Kumasi Asante Kotoko is set to offload defender Evans Owusu following his removal from the club’s players WhatsApp group.

The defender in the past year has not been the ideal first-choice in his position but has been decent for the side whenever he was called on to feature in games.

Ahead of the 2020/2021 football season, it appears he will need to look for a different club if he wants to continue playing his football.

According to Kumasi-based Pure FM, Evans Owusu was removed from Asante Kotoko’s players WhatsApp group over the past weekend.

Upon inquiries from team captain Felix Anna, the defender was informed that the directive came from team manager Ohene Brenya under the instructions of head coach Maxwell Konadu.

Though the club is yet to comment on the matter, checks have revealed that indeed Evans Owusu is not part of the plans of the gaffer of the Porcupine Warriors club.

A few players will be offloaded by the club before the next football season starts to make way for new additions.
