Ghana striker John Antwi was on target this evening for Pyramids FC but it was not enough to save the side from losing 2-1 to El Gouna at the Khaled Bichara Stadium in the Egyptian top-flight league.
The experienced forward has had battles with injuries in the ongoing 2019/2020 Egyptian Premier League season but continues to perform whenever he is fit to play.
In a Matchday 24 fixture against El Gouna on the road today, John Antwi was named in the starting eleven to help Pyramids FC to fight for a win.
He managed to impress and scored to give his team the lead to take into the break on the 44th minute after he was assisted by midfielder Ahmed Tawfik.
The visitors could however not defend the lead after the break and conceded just a minute into the second half.
El Gouna equalized with a fine effort from Walter Bwalya with an assist from Cameroonian international Joseph Jonathan Ngwem.
Later on the 63rd minute, Walter Bwalya scored again to complete his brace, while ensuring that his team defeated Pyramids FC 2-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
With John Antwi’s goal today, the striker now has 4 goals and 3 assists this season.
