AUG 28, 2020 LISTEN

The Ordinary Congress of the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) has come under threat following the securing of a court injunction by Techiman City Football Club.

The Ghana FA has scheduled its 26th Ordinary Congress to be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

In the run-up to the event, many clubs have expressed their displeasure after a statutes amendment proposal was rejected by the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA.

In addition, many stakeholders have raised concern as to why the date for the Congress is the same as the date CAS will be given its ruling on the case between Wilfred Kwaku Osei Palmer and the GFA.

Today, Techiman City FC has taken the bull by the horn and has secured a court injunction seeking to stop Congress from being held on September 1.

According to reports, the Division One League club is seeking 8 reliefs from the Court and has successfully submitted a write of summons to the Ghana FA secretariat today through Bailiffs.
