Former head coach of the Black Stars, James Kwesi Appiah has noted that Asante Kotoko needs to plan with a 4-5 year project if the club wants to build a strong team to compete at the highest level.

The Ghana Premier League record holders have in the past 3 months taken key steps towards making the club great again.

Following the appointment of a 12-member board of directors, the top hierarchy of the Kumasi-based club has overseen the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

With the Porcupine Warriors club bent on taking their place amongst the elite clubs on the continent, former player James Kwesi Appiah has given his take on how that can be achieved.

“We need to plan a 4-5 year project to build a formidable team in order to compete very well domestically and internationally through the blend of quality young and experienced players”, he said in an interview with Kwaku Osei TV.

Coach Kwesi Appiah further stressed that supporters of the club must be kept in the loop of the project in order for them to have patience while the needed work is put in to build the team.

“The supporters should be detailed about the project and exercise patience for it to grow”, the experienced gaffer added.
