Asante Kotoko's towering defender, Habib Mohammed has indicated that legendary striker Asamoah Gyan will help the club a lot if he ends up joining the side.
In the ongoing transfer window, reports suggest that the Porcupine Warriors club is keen to recruit the former Black Stars captain to give them a squad boost for the upcoming football season.
According to center-back Habib Mohammed, Asamoah Gyan’s experience will come in handy for Kotoko if he is signed by the club.
“I will be very happy if I see Asamoah Gyan join Kotoko because he will help the team in terms of experience.
“The players will also be proud of playing with [former] Black Stars captain”, the defender said in an interview as quoted by kickgh.com.
Next season, Asante Kotoko will not only be competing in the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup but will also embark on a campaign in the CAF Champions League.
To ensure they perform better in Africa, the club has identified 8 players including Asamoah Gyan whose signing will bolster the squad of the team for the challenge that lies ahead.
