Ghana Premier League side, AshantiGold SC have parted ways with five players following their poor output at the club.

According to a report filed by Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Emmanuel Osei Baffour led the five-man squad list who have been declared as surplus to requirement by the technical handlers of AshantiGold SC.

Striker Benedict Wobenu and Musah Mohammed who joined the Obuasi-based club after ending their stay with Inter Allies and Ebusua Dwarfs respectively have got their contract abrogated due to their poor output.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Akwasi Nti and Stephen Owusu Banahene have also been released ahead of the 2020/21 season.

It is believed that management of the club is currently holding talks with some highly-rated players to join them before the transfer window closes.

AshantiGold will be representing Ghana at the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup following the annulment of the 2019/20 Ghana football season due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
